A CONGREGATION OF THE ELCA

Most people recognize our church's building from the letters 'HOPE' in the skyline as they drive by the Cedar Ave. and Highway 62 interchange. Others will be familiar with the smell of grilled onions or italian sausage that wafts through the air in the neighborhood from the 5-8 club and Fat Lorenzo's restaurants which bookend our church facilities. And then, people wonder, how do you get there?

From the North on Cedar: Just veer to the right as you pass Fat Lorenzo's rather than staying on 77 south. Old Cedar Ave. is a one way and Hope's parking lot is at the intersection of 58th Street adjacent to the 5-8 club.

From the South on Cedar: That's where it can get a bit tricky. Except for Monday-Friday from 7-9 a.m. it is okay to turn left on Edgewood Blvd. at Fat Lorenzo's and then follow the blue signs through the neighborhood to Hope which is in between Old Cedar Ave. and 18th Ave. at 58th street. Between 7-9 a.m. Monday-Friday you'll be ticketed if you take a left at Edgewood...so don't say we didn't warn you.

From the West on 62: Exit Bloomington Ave. and turn left, crossing the 62 overpass, and then take a right on 60th street. Follow that as it winds around to 58th street and you will find the 5-8 club and Hope's parking lot!

From the East on 62: Exit Cedar Ave North and then follow the directions "From the South on Cedar."

Once you find your way here, look for the green "Welcome" canopy and come through our elevator entrance direct from the parking lot. If you want a little exercise, you can walk around the East side of the building (Cedar Ave. side) and there are steps up to the main entrance.

There is a separate entrance for the church offices which are located at the north end of the building, but if you find yourself at the front door and the door is locked, just press the welcome button and someone can buzz you in.
